Peter Mutie Fapra, Fprsk, Fziprc
Communication Specialist
Peter Mutie is a Communication Specialist with 25 years of experience spanning across dynamic sectors. He is currently the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Peterson Integrated Communications Limited, a company providing niche training in Strategic Communication, based in Nairobi, Kenya, but with operations globally. He is a Board Member of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communications Management (GA)and the Immediate Former Chair of Africa Regional Council for Global Alliance. Peter is the Chairman of the College of Fellows (the pinnacle membership category of PRSK) and the Vice Chairman of the Association of PR and Communication Management Firms (APRECOM) in Kenya.
Peter’s leadership portfolio is diverse. Some of the notable leadership positions he has held include the President of Africa Public Relations Association (APRA) between 2011 and 2016, and the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK) between 2007 and 2012, CEO of Kenya Film Commission, Board Member of BrandKenya Board and Board Member of the Media Council of Kenya. He has also served as a Board Member at Kenya Civil Aviation Authority and Communications Authority of Kenya.
In his long career in PR, Peter has worked in the Public Relations and Strategic Communication departments at Kenya Electricity Generating Company Ltd, East African Development Bank, National AIDS Control Council, among other organisations. Peter is also a consultant with the UN on Strategic Communication. He is a Senior Member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), Fellow APRA, Fellow PRSK and Honorary Fellow of Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communication (ZIPRC). He has spoken in many PR and Strategic Communication conferences globally and has published Communication articles in various journals and magazines. Peter has taught media and strategic communication in Daystar University and University of Nairobi in Kenya.
Peter has received various awards, key among them The Order of Arts and Letters by the Government of France and decorated with the medal of Chevalier of The Order of Arts and Letters. He is also a recipient of PRSK Golden Honours Award and PRSK Warrior Award, which are lifetime awards that recognize outstanding contributions and achievements in Public Relations.
Dr. Joan Gathoni Mutua, PhD, MPRSK
Strategic Corporate Communications and Media Expert
Dr. Joan Gathoni Mutua, PhD, MPRSK is a distinguished Strategic Corporate Communications and Media expert with extensive experience in strategic communication, corporate public relations, and media management across academia, government, and development sectors.
She currently serves as the Chief Corporate Communications Officer at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), where she provides strategic leadership in brand management, stakeholder engagement, institutional communication, and reputation enhancement.
Dr. Mutua holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Communication Studies from JKUAT, a Master’s degree in Communication Studies from the University of Nairobi, and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from Daystar University.
A Member of the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK) and the Media Council of Kenya, Dr. Mutua also serves as a board member, trainer, and consultant in communication strategy, media development, and leadership communication. She has published widely, supervised numerous Master’s and Doctoral theses, and continues to mentor emerging professionals in the communication field.
Her expertise lies in strategic corporate communication, media relations, and leadership development, with a strong commitment to translating academic research into evidence-based communication strategies that inform policy, strengthen institutions, and drive meaningful social impact.
Dr. Christopher S. Khisa
Seasoned Communications Specialist
Christopher S. Khisa (PhD is a seasoned communications specialist with 16+ years of experience in Corporate Communications, Media Relations, and Broadcast Journalism. He is an adjunct Corporate Communication and Media lecturer at Daystar University and postgraduate supervisor at St. Paul’s University. He is an Associate Trainer at the Daystar Leadership and Professional Development Institute (DLPDI). Dr Khisa has held various senior roles in the Media and Public Relations sector. He is the immediate former head of Corporate Communication at the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), Kenya, and has a PhD in Peace and Conflict Studies from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST). He is an alumni of the University of Nairobi, the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication, among others. Dr Khisa is a family man, a devoted Christian, a member of the Association of Professional Broadcasters (APB), Kenya, and the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK).

international awards for groundbreaking campaigns executed in Kenya.
Desiree's commitment goes beyond client success to shaping the future of the
profession itself. She is a recognised leader in talent development, managing a
strong internship and job shadowing scheme that mentors new university entrants,
integrating fresh skills into the next generation of PR professionals. This dedication
to mentorship, team building, and interpersonal excellence is central to her
philosophy.
Her lifetime contributions to the field have been officially honoured with the Public
Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK) Lifetime Achievement Award—the society’s
highest individual accolade—which recognises her significant impact, professional
inspiration, and lasting contribution to the profession.
Mr. Japhet Muthomi
Deputy Director in Charge of Public Communications and Media in the National Assembly of Kenya
Mr. Japhet Muthomi is the Deputy Director in Charge of Public Communications and Media in the National Assembly of Kenya. He is a specialist in Strategic Communication, Public Affairs, Law and Governance. He is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Member of Public Relations Society of Kenya and a Chartered Public Relations Analyst.
Mr. Muthomi holds the following academic qualifications:

He has also undertaken several professional certificate qualification
Mr. Muthomi is a trainer with the Centre for Parliamentary Studies and Training of Kenya (CPST). He has also offered consultancy to various organisations including USAID, European Parliamentarians for Africa (AWEPA), UN Women, Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Kenya School of Government, Kenya School of Monetary Studies, Kenya Re, Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and several national and regional Parliaments.
